Colorado Dream

I had a dream that me and friend (Ethnos friends weird huh?) were back in colorado where I grew up at the loaf n jug. Conifer is one main road and a bunch of dirt roads that lead off the main stretch. Other than that the whole area is mountains and evergreen trees with patches of Aspen trees.

So we decided to have a game of hide and seek in the forest in the dark. I was tired so I went out into the woods and found a good hiding spot before going to sleep. When I woke up I was in a bed in the middle of the woods, I thought it odd because I was in the forest I shouldn't be sleeping in woods, but I woke up and was in fact not in Colorado or sleeping on the ground.

new week

What's happin today?

Well I tried to call people to make plans this morning and it turns out that my cell phone is disabled. My bill is two months behind, I sent in a check last week to cover the two months but it looks like I'm still cell phoneless. This is odd because I don't have a land line either.

How does this make me feel?

1. Naked, now that I am not carrying around my cell phone my pocket feels empty, like something is missing. Similar to walking outside without wearing a shirt or pants.

2. Disconnected, I want to use my cell phone to reach out to people and hear from them and have them speak to me but this can't happen. I try and just get this stupid recording.

3. Isolated, with limited connectivity I feel cut off. Yes, I can use myspace or post on blogs but that is it. No one is here I am alone, my roomie is at work, I could IM some people but still, the only one that I really IM is Jen and she's at work so I don't want to decrease her productivity.

4. Wondering what to do, I am a people pleaser and if there isn't anyone around to please I find myself sitting here with no direction. I ended up going the mall and buying some stuff. I hate the mall, I hate shopping but I needed SOMETHING to do.

Update

Well It is friday now and I have survived without meat for 2 days. I've found myself thinking if I'm going to count fish as meat. I know some vegitarians that eat fish and I've pondered making a tuna sandwitch. Apparently the no meat thing is something catholics do anyway but they have rules and it isn't a straight through thing, you get to take a break on the weekend and have fish on friday? I don't remember mike looked it up on wikipedia.

He left a bunch of meat scraps out on a cutting board all night, I'm assuming that it was grittle and fat, it looked like fat. He made a comment that the buy one get one free roasts that he got were disgusting. So I dumped it in the trash. Leaving meat out over night makes it not food safe anyway right?

Enough about that, so far I've ate cereal (several times) and this vegitarian pizza bucket stuff that I got at winco. I had some garlic bread and some vegi bites (breaded artichoke and spinach) for lunch last night. I drank coffee, lots of coffee always must have coffee must have must have coffee coffeeeeeee. And cocoa too I have a cocoa right not, on night shift we can get it for free. But my cup is empty, I just checked, darn the man and his empty cups!

Cell Phone vs. The Bible

THE CELL PHONE vs. THE BIBLE

I wonder what would happen if we treated our Bible like we treat our cell phone?

What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets?

What if we flipped through it several times a day?

What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it?

What if we used it to receive messages from the text?

What if we treated it like we couldn't live without it?

What if we gave it to our kids as a gift?

What if we used it when we traveled?

What if we used it in case of emergency?

Unlike our cell phone, we don't have to worry about our Bible being "disconnected" because of an unpaid bill. Jesus already paid the bill in-full.

And just think--no dropped calls! God hears them all!

No meat for 40 days (day 1)

Yesterday was fat tuesday and I made a bunch of bacon... I didn't eat it all but it is sitting on the counter in the same spot as yesterday morning temping me.

Lately I've been denying myself things I indulge in. I don't want things to be in control of my life I want God. I've already decided to quit fast food and have done good with that. For February I am fasting from ebay. That's been tough, I think I have problems being materialistic so that is a good exercise for me.

Also, I've put on some weight over the past few years, I got a blood test at work (for less than free wooo) and they said that my cholesterol is high. I want to have a healthy lifestyle and I want to deny myself so that I can focus on Christ better. Jesus hung out in the desert for 40 days with no food, I should be able to just not eat dead flesh of beast for that long. It isn't going to be easy though.

I think I better hide that bacon away so it isn't as much of a temptation.

Sakuracon

I got a costume and it looks like this. Not a very good picture but oh well. I need some face paint and a white wig and I'll be ready to go. Too bad that swords are not allowed in Seattle metro area.

Can't Wait for Sakuracon

I'm really stoked about sakuracon so stoked that I searched the web for people's blogs about sakuracon, found some pictures of cosplayers last year. Fancy fancy.

Can you tell who they are?

For a long time I've always thought divorce would be the worst thing to go through. My parents had a nasty nasty divorce that shadowed my whole childhood. Tonight I found out that one of my coworkers (he's 20 something) was married in college but got divorced his senior year and it cut him deep. He was on anti-depresents for two years and worked as a bouncer in a bar because he had so much hate. He took this hate out on drunk people.

Happy Birthday Dave

Some people from Ethnos came over last night and we hung out had some drinks ate some snack food. Served Dave up with a FLAMING cake.

It was a blast thanks everyone for coming over many for the first time. That is the cool thing about church, it isn't just a couple that do everything. People put lots of time into community I really appreciate that.

Dave = awesome, even even more so now that he is one year elder.

Too Much TP

So I was going to take a dump and the guy next to me I could hear pulling TP. So I did my buisness wiped and all the time there was a sound like he kept reaching for more and more TP.
I wiped, washed my hands and was out before I even heard a flush. Is it just me or is this slightly disturbing?

Pull out of Iraq = death of millions?

I never really was a fan of the Iraq war. However lately I was looking forward to Bush leaving office and the war being over. Maybe I just got a bit too much of the liberal media. Hmm what else?

Well, I got to thinking, not about Iraq mind you but about Cambodia. At community group we studied Cambodia and apparently there was a Nazi-like cleansing that happened in the late 70s. I didn't know about this, I knew lots of bad stuff happened in Vietnam after we pulled out that we don't like to talk about but I had no idea that it affected neighboring countries.

Anyway, a few hours ago I asked Phane, a fellow I work with from Laos if he'd ever been to Cambodia. He said that he never had been. Then I told him about community group and what we discovered. He said something similar happened in Laos and that is why he is here. Anyone with education tied to the Americans was killed or became a refuge. He said it was terrible, the US just up and left, and didn't leave anything but guns for the people to defend themselves with.

He went on to say that if we do the same thing in Iraq lots of people will die like what happened in Vietnam. I was like... WOW Are we a country that will sacrifice millions of Iraqis to save thousand of soldiers?

Attacked by Snakes!

I watched snakes on a plane and well I wasn't impressed. But for some illogical reason I found it oddly amusing. I hope this doesn't give the terrorists any ideas.

Lord Help us To stand

I started watching the stand yesterday, I've still been watching it today trying to kill some time before work. The thing I like about this movie is all the colorado references. Some of you may know that I'm from colorado and I haven't been there in hmm well over a year and seeing them talk about it like jerusalem really moves a guy.

Oh and if any of you haven't seen it, I'd high recomend watching it, for a TV mini series it is very good, one of my favs.

Small Party

Well, had a few people over last night because Nova thought that it was lame that I should do nothing for my birthday. Basically, everyone that had me as a friend on myspace knew that it was my birthday so when I went to TNT on Thursday night people were wondering what I was doing so I invited a few people from there.

Nova, Ryan, Jon, Bobbie and Theresa thanks for stopping by and visiting. We experimented with making mixed drinks and playing settlers. I didn't get any pictures but oh well, I felt it was ok to be lazy on my birthday. I did goto work after though so I guess I wasn't being too lazy.

It is too early to drink in oregon

Today is my birthday and I went to winco to buy some groceries, also I put a bottle of this white chocolate Irish stuff drink. The lady said, you can't buy this it is too early. I laughed thinking she was joking, but she wasn't she told me that she couldn't sell me it until 7:00 am.

Alternative Fuel

http://news.com.com/FAQ+Guide+to+alternative+fuels+-+page+2/2100-11395_3-6155212-2.html?tag=st.num

Saw this article on cnet, it talks about different alternative fuels. Nuclear isn't even mentioned it's like the hard work we did just vanished.

However, it does point out that every alternative fuel has it's own vice.
