Ethnos Pictures

Friends from Ethnos came over last night and we hung out for a few hours. Jen asked me in the service if we could have the get together at my place and I said sure. But I knew my place was a big mess because I had just got off work sunday morning and felt like sleeping instead of cleaning.

I sent my roomie a text message saying that some people would be coming over and I'd be heading home in a bit to clean. Much to my surprise when I got home most of the cleaning of the kitchen was done and we were able to get things ready for people to come over in about 40 minutes after that.

Thank you Jen for inviting everyone over and thank you everyone that came over. You all brightened up my sunday night.

today I...

Picked up my dry cleaning and made Ramen. Yum!

Before that, this morning, I went back in for passdown with day shift and there was this paper that I wanted to write something on, but I reached for it and tried to unfold it. I dropped it. I then proceeded to reach down to pick it up and bumped my head on a monitor. After retrieving the paper I pulled out my pin and dropped it on the floor. I picked that up and took the cap off, put it on the back, the cap fell off on the floor. I then said that I'm not going to be writing anything else this shift put everything away and went home and went to bed.

Sunday

My sunday was as follows: I called Jon, he was in forest grove and about to head back. He said I'm right on the way so he picked me up. I made him pancakes because I made too much batter and didn't want to throw the rest out.

I hung out with the smalls than Jon took me to a parking lot and taught me how to ride bikage. I still need lots of practice before I'm set to take on regular traffic. But I did have a fun time doing something new and exciting.

We then went to Ethnos Church to set up. I don't think I'd been there that early ever really. But it was cool, I got to hang out with the set up crew. It turned out that I was scheduled to do lyrics and I spaced it out. The singing had already started by the time Joel reminded me. Oops.

After tearing down, we went to New Seasons and chilled. Something funny happened towards the end. Ashby chose to make the world a better place by cleaning up the table for everyone. So she took Troy's plate when she got to that end of the table. The only thing is that it was full of soy sauce so when she turned around soy sause got poured down Ginny's shirt. I think Ashby was more embarrassed than Ginny.

bye bye freedom.

alas, mine car hath gone in for repair.

When I got back from my friend's house tuesday it was all scary cloud coming from the hood. I figured I could limp it to work a couple days but I drove it to work (takes about 15 mins) and it was all overheated by the time I got there. I took it to the mechanic ( which is closer than home) and it was overheated by the time I got there. I even turned off the engine at stop lights and drove really passively with hazards on.

So I still got two more nights of work left so the question is, do I ride the bike or do I take the max? The bikeage is about 45 minutes I've done it before but it requires lots of physical effort. I think going the max will take about an hour because I have a 15 min walk on either side.

The thing is that I'm very used to driving and not being able to is like having my wings clipped off.

fun time

well yesterday I got up called my mom and worked out times to see my sister. My mom will be there so it'll kinda be like a family reunion of sorts. Anyway I'm going to fly out to billings and mom will pick me up (she's going to drive from denver to sheridan where sis is) It'll be fun I'll get to spend some time out in the country and stuff.

So after that I bee lined it to church and changed seats a few times. I decided that not sitting in the same place at church is loads of fun. I started sitting with Brian and Ginny, then I went and sat with Marko, met a guy named nick who was cool. Then I sat next to Brian. After that I saw in the same pew with Justin though we didn't talk much things were winding down.

After that went to Michael's place for party. It was cool, he lives way close to where I work. I car pooled with Jon in the tracker. Anywho, he had this multi checkered carpet that we played twister on. Than everyone started giving each other messages that was kinda random but cool.

Free BBQ

So last week we broke a record and as a reward all the night managers are going to fire on the grills for a few hours tonight. I'm really stoked about this. Usually management is asking us to do something or about information on this and that. It is nice to be served by them instead of serving them once and a while.

Sakruacon 2007

So I just got back from Seattle. I haven't been there in a long time and I got to see pike's place for the first time ever.

We drove up there Friday. After work I picked up AJ, met Ginny and she drove, we slept. We watched some anime, they had some great projectors and AV systems set up all over the place. There were some vendors there that showed us some up coming things. I even got to watch some karaoke where people were singing in Japanese. There was a band from Japan that came and played a show. We caught the tail end of that. I wasn't really getting into the whole rocking out when I don't have a clue sort of thing.

Theresa met us there saturday and we watched this fansub where a girl had a 'battle skirt' that she used to kill monsters. We also watched ghost hunt. And this cute little one about dolls that battle each other rosen maiden or something like that.

I don't have any pictures (well except some crappy ones from my phone). I forgot my camera oh well. I'm having some trouble sending them from my phone it says check media settings every time I try.

The craziest thing though was that I dressed as Sesshomaru on Saturday. Even before we made it in the door strange stuff started. Strangers would just come up and hug me. The first time was kinda startling. This girl was yelling Seshi!!! and ran up to me and hugged me. I hugged her back and smiled, not sure what I did to deserve such a gesture. We'd be walking and people would say stuff like "Sesshomaru, can I get your picture?", or they'd want a picture with me. Or someone would want to pet my fur. (which got hot wearing all day) later that day some people dressed up as other Inuyasha characters came up to me and said there was a photoshoot and I needed to come. So I told Ginny and AJ goodbye for now and went and hung out with people who I had never met before getting my picture taken with them. However, while they were strangers, I knew their characters quite well so there was sort of a sense of kinship because we liked the same anime enough to dress up for sakuracon.

Maybe there will be some pictures of me online somewhere I can snag for you all to look at. I probally got my picture taken several hundred times. It was exciting. It was kinda fun walking around in Seattle in a costume and getting a bunch of strange looks or kids saying your character's name with excitement. I was stopped once by this guy and gal who said they were tourists and this was their first time being in seattle and he wanted to get a picture of me with his daughter. It was fun.

I had a blast, it could have been better, we didn't stay up late and do lots of wild stuff but still the whole experience was new and enjoyable.

HOA meeting

Apparently the HOA meeting wasn't a bunch of complaining like I thought it was going to be. Wait back up, in case some of you don't know, I live in a condo. It isn't a big complex (there are 18 units I think) but it is built on a flood zone. They said that the area used to be wetland but they put a bunch of fill dirt down and built upon it. Last year we put some flood vents in and this year they are going to replace the gutters. They are not sloped properly and are sagging. They tend to fill up and overflow, this doesn't help the sagging part. The ones on the garages have a line where the water drips off. I didn't know this was a problem but apparently if the water doesn't drain right it can flow under the foundation. They say this is bad, I don't know how bad does anyone know? But all the officers were wanting to replace the gutters this year.

Monday Night

I went to Welcome Coffee at Ethnos Church. Brenda invited me and Jen had a class so her Monday night thing was moved to Wednesday. I had been to one of the other welcome coffees but I was in the nursery with Karen watching kidlets. It was cool, I was expecting it to be more conversational but there was an agenda and the elders / pastors did most of the talking. I guess it makes sense that if you goto a thing to learn about the church they'd talk about the church rather than just shoot the breeze.

Afterwards, I invited everyone that didn't have children to put to bed to come over and hang out. We were done eightish so I was still ready to stay up and party. Thanks to everyone that came over cooked munched chatted listened to music and stuff.

I always enjoy when company comes over. It makes my home feel more like a place of community and less like a place where I go isolate myself.

I'm So Blessed

I just got back from Portland City Grill where we went after Ethnos Church and I want to say I feel incredibly blessed.

I had such a good time singing listening serving with everyone and hanging out and just living life with people who love the Lord.

I was driving back from down town listening to face to face and was totally rocking out because I'm so happy. You all are the church and I love you. I enjoy being with you.

April fools

I just paged my boss saying that her car has a flat tire.

Also we are writing a bogus passdown for the next shift so they are totally confused.
