my weekend
I spent most of my free time with my friends Nick and Diana this weekend. I went there saturday night after catching up on sleep to go hang out and play. We got some dinner but a bit later there was a call from the Germans saying there was flooding in the NE wing. A pipe had burst and was spraying all over the place. So we got to spend a couple hours moping around.
After that, I took off (we were taking care of that till well after midnight) I spent sunday mostly working on some projects and in the afternoon headed over to clackamas town center suncoast for a cosplay contest. I wore my bleach outfit and joined the handful of other cosplayers there. I got to meet some new people and a guy that tracked me down on myspace and kept wanting to go out cosplaying haha. Anyway, hung out there for an hour or so and chatted and admired people's costumes (Everyone looks sweet in a good costume!)
It was a bit after five so I stopped by and had dinner with Nick and Diana again. They were going out to swing dance so I jumped on the band wagon (I wasn't really interested in learning how wives are supposed to submit to their husbands, don't even have a girlfriend right now)
That was cool, I got to meet some other new people and a couple others that were at the last swing dance I went too. Nick and Diana want to do some swing at their place sometime, there is a ballroom it is kinda spendy to rent it but I dunno who knows what will happen in the future. I was still very nervous about dancing but no where near as bad as I used to be, everyone is friendly.

tests suck
My coworker has been riding for about a year with his permit. He took the riding test at the DMV and failed because his bike is very big (he'd a big guy too) and the cones were very close. Anyway, he said that if he had a smaller bike it would have been easy but it is hard with a big heavy bike. So he is going to sign up for the intermediate class (one day istead of 3) in july.
I told him that I'd go ahead and take the riding test maybe next month and see if I can pass (it costs you nothing if you fail) and if that doesn't work I could sign up for that one day class with him, if it is on a saturday on a short week I can pull it off without taking any time off. The ammount of time I would need to take off to take the biker class was what I didn't like the most, I didn't know I could get buy with taking the shorter version, so hmm something to think about for the future, must plan must plan.

swing
Last night some friends talked me into going swing dancing at the crystal ballroom. I hadn't ever been before and showed up for the lesson. I was able to get some of the steps right when the guy was counting though them and we had a set pattern we were repeating after a while.
The whole asking girls to dance when I don't have any dancing skills was intimidating to me. But there were some people there that I knew from before other than those I came with. I did see one of my coworkers also, a quiet tall guy. I however didn't see him dance he mostly just watched quietly.
We went back to the ward's and Diana made pork friend rice and pot stickers for us while we socialized. So, somewhat a nerve racking night but a good night.

Ride to Forest Grove
After I woke up yesterday, I called Jim (he was the guy in charge of the youth group I was in) and he came over. It didn't take much twisting for him to get his bike out here an we visited some old friends showing of new bike to them. After that we took farmington back out into the country towards bald peak and then down into forest grove. It was a nice ride. I think we put about 50-60 miles on round trip. I killed it a couple times repeatedly rushing starting off and another time I just couldn't get it going right towards the end from a stop light because it was running out of gas. Jim pointed out that there was this switch that would goto the reserve tank, that fixed the problem. Can't wait to get with someone and go out on another ride!

Bikage!!!
So finally after all this time (I started bugging Jon in August of 2006) I bought his bike. The thing looks sick. He and Shinske rode over last night and I bought it from him then. I got a jacket from the motorcycle store off of 217, the guy hooked me up with a 10% discount for buying a bike even though I didn't buy it there so I got the jacket for $89 dollars. I still need to get a helmet and some chaps but I'm doing good. Maybe some gloves too, that might be good.

My Sister
I just got off the phone with my little sister. The last time I spoke to her was in 2005. I drove out to Denver to visit (24 hour drive btw) and all I got was to have lunch with her for an hour. I felt unwanted by my family on that last visit.
Last year my little sister got divorced. She and her husband Judd were swing dance partners in high school. They were part of a troop that traveled around for a couple years until they got all burnt out on the scene, Judd started his own internet company and I think it got bought up by microsoft a few years after it started. They headed up to Seattle to work on what would later become xbox live.
Even when they lived up there, they never came down to portland to visit and my dad and I only went up to visit maybe twice. Anyway, my dad has kept me in the loop otherwise I wouldn't have even known that She got divorced. Apparently it went down something like: he married too young and doesn't want to be married anymore. My sis was really hurt apparently because she took it very personally. I haven't talked to her about it yet, heck, this is the first time we talked, even on the phone in almost two years.
Back when I used to live in Colorado little sis and I used to be good friends. But I moved out to finish HS here, the landlord died that had been in charge of the place where we stayed in Colorado all those years. It was Dianah's senior year of high school, she had to leave the school that she spent 3 years going to and be a senior with a whole new group. About the same time she turned her back on God and would get bitter angry when I tried to talk about it to her.
Anyway, I hope that God will heal her even if she doesn't believe He exists anymore.
